Orlando CC stations being sold

per sales listing at R&R online. They are also selling the Keys stations (long expected) and one of their Jacksonville stations. Not much info on the buyer of the 71 stations involved.

According to the front page of the Radio-Info website, 101.1 (WJRR), 104.1 (WTKS), and 107.7 (WMGF) would be sold to this trust. I assume, CC will continue to manage these stations.

I did not say he couldn't mention it but I haven't seen anything shows Orlando here. Sorry.

Just to clarify... the entire Orlando group is being placed into the trust including 100.3, 106.7, 540, and 740. I thought only one would go in like they're doing in Jacksonville, however it looks to me like they want to continue to manage all 7.

It looks like I leaped to a conclusion about "being sold"...It appears the 71 stations are being placed into a trust. Some are already in the process of being sold, some are on the block, and the rest???

If you're in the TRUST then CC will be saying Aloha to you and yours and before the private equity guys close on what's left. Frankly, the equity guys will be far more pressure oriented than wall street, they will want their money back quickly...it will be slim fast on steroids ;>O

There is no buyer. They are removing the active management of the stations from CCU until a buyer can be found and approved.

No, you were right the first time. When radio groups place stations into trusts like this, it means they're on the block and are shopped until they find the buyer. Citadel has a group of their stations in a trust thanks to their ABC Radio merger.

Now people can speculate as to who the potential buyer might be.

Wonder if whoever will take over will sign on a decent country station in Orlando. K-92 is a snorfest and I am suprised that seeing they have decent numbers someone hasn't tried to pick em off or at least take some of that share.

I would be suprised if whoever buys the cluster (I think it'll be a year or so before that happens) touches anything. JRR is dominating O-Rock and pulls good ratings. Real Radio is probably one of the best known FM Talk stations in the nation, and add in Magic and Rumba (which will probably remain the only full powered spanish station in Orlando) and you have a real nice cluster.

If I were CBS Radio, I'd buy up a station or two from Clear Channel (Rumba and JRR), then turn O-Rock country...but hopefully something distinguishable from K92FM and WPCV.

I could see it now "105-9 the Gator...Country that Rocks!"

...or not

Radio-X

Okay, I am thoroughly confused. I'm told that in some markets all the stations put into the trust will be sold, but that in Orlando it will be a "one station" deal.

Aloha does mean "hello" as well as "good-bye" ::)

If that's true then why would they send the whole cluster into the trust instead of the one station? Los Angeles is also a one or two station deal, so they sent KVVS into the trust, but stations like KFI are still in Clear Channel's custody.

Actually I'm now reading other boards saying that R&R might be making some errors in its reports. For one, they reported that the entire Dayton CC cluster is entering the trust, but another user says that only two stations are going in.

I believe that I read that the Melbourne group will be sold too.

They have too many stations in Orlando with the new rules. They can own 4 in either band and 6 total. My guess is that Salem will buy one FM and the others will go to one buyer in a cash or trade deal.
