Orlando or other radio tribute sites

::) I don't really know and hadn't really thought about it until you mentioned it. I'm sure Grease and Jay has a abunch of stuff lying around somewhere. I know where some is but a lot I had got tossed along with the "Old Lady" years ago..Original owners and the Kaplans are dead.....But THE MIGHTY 690..THE BIG APE LIVES FOREVER

I'm going to email Dr. John, and Greaseman and see what I can find out. I've also heard that someone may be working on a Big Ape site, so I'll research that as well.

Jeff, great web site you found on 980 WDVH. I grew up in Gainesville in the 70-80's this was a great radio station, even after the FM's came on. Thanks for sharing, really good stuff here.
Speaking of Gainesville, anyone remember WGVL 105.5?

;D Jeff, Thanx for that link to the GREAT 98 DVH Site..I was disappointed I didn't see my name anywhere on it..I was great friend with Larry Edwards and Jinx McCall in the 70's..I did a stint there with Gary Nelson as a newsman..Jim Brand was also a great guy..I was sorry to see that Larry had died, I did not know... WGYL..Didn't they call that "The Gull " back then and wasn't it Beautiful Music.. I remember when WUWU was in the Gainesville Mall and someone took at shot at "Boomer" through the plate glass window.. I was trying to remember the calls of that famous station that pioneered "Underground" music in GVille?.. Never forget Don Wright and Rob Sharkey at WGGG, now that was a "News Team" Ha!..Seems like everyone at one time or another passed through Cocoa Beach, Orlando Jax or Gainesville Radio.. Thanks for the memories...BIG APE!

BIG--

Jim Brand is still doing mornings on now "Country Legends WDVH". I thinks he's been @ WDVH/WLUS/WDVH for 35+ years. The current owner (Pamal) has spent a lot of money on a new building, equipment, transmitters, and a tower or two for their group of Gainesville stations. Consultants are around too so hope that is not a bad thing!

Hey Bob...I tried to get my Buddy..Rutledge to come over and post some stuff here, but maybe he lost the address! Central Fla site seems to me to be very hard to post on, with so much repetition oif posts...Hope this isn't in violation of this stite's TOS! BIG APE!
