orlando radio seniority

So who has been on the air the longest in o-town, continuously and on/off over the years (but currently on-air)?

Scott McKenzie @ MIX constant since '91 - my guess?
I think both Shadoe and Hildy were on Y106 in the late 80's ... have they every had a long-term break?
Had Slats not moved back to freez'n Cleveland after the Q-dump, he'd probably have it for on/off over the years ... maybe Rick Stacy at the moment (BJ sometime mid 80's?)

anybody got a current attendance list?

You are correct sir! I had a senior moment there. It was 1991. I had to go back and read their bio on the site.

Scott McKenzie was there before Erica, actually... I remember WAY back in my childhood when Mix's morning show was Alan Specter and Scott McKenzie. Erica Lee was brought in later as a news reader, but they started giving her some on-air time alongside the two guys as they started to notice what a funny personality she had. And eventually, Mix dumped Specter to go in a more family-friendly direction with the morning show, and "Scott & Erica" was born!

From CFLRadio.net http://www.cflradio.net/105.1_WOMX_FM.htm

1990-(October 29)-Metro Traffic Services' Erica Lee joins the "MIX 105.1" morning show.

1991-(January 3)-Scott McKenzie is named the new morning show host. He is first introduced to his newscaster, Erica Lee. This is the beginning of the "Scott and Erica Show". Other cast member's of the show include Otis the Gator Boy and William Lamb "The Horoscope Man".

"Scott & Erica" did indeed start in January 1991, but Scott McKenzie was at the station earlier than that.

From Scott's bio page on your website...
http://www.cflradio.net/scott_mckenzie_bio.htm

"In 1989, Scott and Fran headed to WXGT-FM 92.3 in Columbus, Ohio. Then Scott spent a year at WZOU-FM 94.5 in Boston, then on to Orlando and WOMX-FM 105.1. Scott spent his first month on the morning show with long-time Orlando personality Alan Spector. Then on October 29, 1990, Metro Traffic Services' Erica Lee joined the "MIX 105.1" morning show as the newscaster. On January 3, 1991 Scott McKenzie was named the new morning show host, with then newscaster, Erica Lee."

Scott McKenzie actually replaced their first morning host, Mike Elliot. Mix's first morning show was called "Mike In The Morning," and featured Mike Elliott and Alan Spector. When Elliott left, that's when they made Alan Spector the main morning guy, renamed the show "Mix In The Morning," and brought in Scott McKenzie as his sidekick. And then Erica was the last piece of the puzzle as their newscaster.

I was listening every day back then... LOVED that station, really enjoyed Mike Elliott, and was sad to see him go. Was never wild about Alan Spector, but I liked Scott McKenzie from the word "go," and it didn't take long for me to start liking Erica Lee too when she entered the picture later. When they dumped Spector and promoted Erica from newscaster to co-host, I was thrilled.

Shadoe (K92) was at Y106 back in 85/86 with Rick Stacy (and if I recall correctly he had come over from 'DBO?)... JoJo (Star 94.5) was at WORL AM1270 back then too.

What about Michael W. Lowe now on Lite Rock in Melbourne, he has been on the Orlando/ Central Florida from the early 70's

He's a good dude. Is Timothy V, or B or whatever still on at 107.1?

Where did Dave Kelly (menard) go after Lite Rock?
Anyone, anyone?

Went to CC/Orlando. Was Harvey's producer at COOL/Big 100 (and with Supergold for a while), now PT/Swing at Magic.
