it's sad. i have so many good memories from my days growing up there in pine hills, from 1969 through the 80s. i drove through there about six months ago and was afraid to roll down the window. i actually saw a story in the orlando sentinel, there was a homicide at the house i grew up in.
right down the street lived Rock Robinson, a well known orlando radio personality. Down the street on the other side lived the parents of Jim Casey, the midday host on WLOF.....i digress.
DIZ guy, i listened to real radio when it first hit the airwaves with howard stern, what, mid 1990s? my favorite show was the lead-in for howard stern. Carol Dedman and Drew Garabo gave the local news for an hour between 5 and 6 am - i was a regular contributor to their show. for some reason, i just loved that show - if you will excuse the term, it was real radio.........i moved away and don't listen to it anymore, but i guess it's gone downhill from what i read here.
