I remember in another post about how mix shows are dieing on radio.... i seee for example power 95.3 in orlando in ratings beatin 102 jamz in orlando with out any mixshows except for sunday night mixtape with dj prostyle which is a 4 hour show. 102 jamz have a midday mix show, a 5 pm mix show, and weekend mixshows till 3am in the morning. my question is do anyone think 102 might take off their mixshows since it seem they cant beat power 95.3 with DJ prostyle as the face of the station

I think that's what K104 did here. When they seen their ratings and the fact that The Beat had beat them, they started dropping mixshows like hot potatoes. K104 do that everytime their ratings start to tank. Their mixshows are always the first casualties.

wow thats sucks like i love hearin mixshows from diffrent cities but witout them i think radio is so boring like not hearin a mixshow on a fri and sat on a station makes no sense too me playin rotation or atleast a speciality show

Finally, somebody who thinks the same way I do about mixshows.

I love Urban Radio mixshows sometimes i like to listen to other markets mixshows but i kind of have a problem with pre recorded mixshows clear channel does that a lot with their urban station

I do too. I think mixshows help give a station it's identity outside of its imaging. Any station can play the same old ten songs, but a live mixshow with a talented mixer makes a station stand out.

I am really starting to tihnk PD's are not pulling the plug on Mixshows its probably the higher up's that think mixshows is a waste , and just play the same 10 songs on a fri and sat nights really i dont want to hear slow r&b at 10 pm at night on a friday as am riding to the club

Can you believe it? It's 10pm on a Friday night, and K104 is actually mixing? I'm shocked.

K104 have to do mixshos for the listeners thats on there way to the club tonight idk about after i know here in NYC the mixshows dont stop till 4am i know other markets stop at 2 or 3am

It's Saturday and I'm curious to know if both stations are going to cut their mixes short at midnight again.
