OTA network coverage of President Carter's funeral Thursday 1/9

Here is the schedule per the AP...

I am particularly interested (on behalf of a family member who is a fan of The Young and the Restless who resides in the Eastern Time Zone, as do I). Will it and The Bold and the Beautiful be preempted by today's coverage of the rites? CBSNews.com isn't helping, and DIRECTV's grid is showing the normal schedule for our local Eye affil.

I wonder if the networks will split-screen with wildfire coverage. Funeral on one side, fire coverage on the other. Big parts of America's 2nd biggest metro area are on fire right now.

All the OTA networks will carry it. Should run from about 9:30 am ET to noon or later. The interment in Plains will also be covered by some networks.

Doubt it. Maybe a mention or short report after. Presidential funerals are planned long in advance, down to the camera angles, and they’re not going to screw it up with shots of fires.

Now FNC has gone full screen with the funeral. The just showed a shot of Bill Clinton alongside Kamala and her hubby.

Fox News has switched from fs coverage of the funeral to fs coverage of the LA County supervisor's remarks on the fires. Fox Business has picked up the funeral coverage.

Are PBS and CNN the only telecasters listing "The Funeral of Jimmy Carter" or something similarly worded on the grids, in lieu of listing regular programming?

As of yesterday that definitely was the case. I think Bloomberg also had something listed in advance.

Fox over-the-air has the funeral.
Mankato's KEYC-DT2 didnt
The nets in Mankato that carried it were KEYC CBS and KMNF NBC (all stations in Mankato are owned by Gray so Fox not having it is no big deal...no ABC in market)

ABC affiliate WSYX and CBS affiliate WBNS in Columbus, Ohio interrupted the state funeral at Noon today to cover breaking local news of a gunman firing shots at police officers. NBC affiliate WCMH immediately went to local news at 12:15 when NBC ended their state funeral coverage.

PBS affiliate WOSU is the only local station carrying the state funeral procession to Andrews AFB right now.

The local Spanish language Telemundo and Univision stations also carried the state funeral this morning.

KABC-TV and to a certain extent Los Angeles TV stations had to either put the funeral on a tiny screen or pre-empt national coverage the funeral due to LA County and State of California giving updates over the fires.

Live Now on Fox has two feeds on their Youtube page one for KTTV's coverage of the LA Area fires and another one for Former President Carter's funeral.

In Des Moines Iowa, everything said regular programming but WOI 5 (ABC), KCCI 8 (CBS) and WHO 13 (NBC) aired national network coverage of the funeral with CBS starting around 8am or before, while ABC and NBC didn't start till 8:30am and ran till around 11:10am.

Iowa PBS, KDSM Fox 17, and CW Iowa 23 all aired regular programming.

NewsNation said 8am to 11am The Funeral of Jimmy Carter but everytime I turned to it they were covering the wild fires in California.

Atlanta local TV stations did a good job covering the Georgia portion of former president Jimmy Carter's funeral. The networks did a great job covering the Washington DC part of the funeral for Jimmy Carter.

Here is WXIA-TV covering the Georgia part of Jimmy Carters funeral.
