Otari Remote Control Box Help

Hey all,

I need some help here.

I have a Broadcast Electronics TG-2A 25 Hz tone detector connected directly to the remote control Jones plug port on the back of my Otari 5050BII. What I would like to do is tie the TG-2A remote stop control logic into the stop button on my Otari CR-705A remote control box. I want the stop button to still work when manually pressed but I also want it to activate the stop mode by the TG-2A. While I have the manual for both the 5050 and the TG-2A, I know nothing about interfacing it to the CR-705A. Has anyone else ever done this? What is the best procedure?

Thanks,

R

As a quick suggestion; how about moving the N.O. contacts from your tone detector and parallel the stop button contacts right at the CR-705A box? Make sure you don't try to connect the contacts across the indicator light on the button. It should be pretty obvious. That way if you press the stop on the CR-705A or the TG-2A fires, the tape stops.

Make sure you unplug the CR-705A from the deck before trying to solder to the button.
