Ottawa Country Station Bans Carrie Underwood

This in the wake of the NHL's Ottawa Senators trading forward Mike Fisher - Underwood's husband - to the Predators, who play near the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

There are radio stunts, and then there's just plain stupidity. Carrie Underwood is one of the most successful country artists of recent history. To decide to no longer play her music over something as trivial as a hockey league transaction could cost you listeners.

You're a bit wrong. Kiss is NOT a country station, it's a hot AC/Top 40 hybrid. There has been requests of it's sister station, Y101 which is a country station to ban her music. The Ottawa Sens rule this city. There's nothing else here but hockey and Mike Fisher was very much loved not only for his on ice performance but all the years of charity work he did here. People are very upset that he's gone. I don't care in the least about hockey so in that aspect I won't miss him. What I will miss about him is all the great work he has done for this city to make life better for people. Some fans blamer her for the trade.

Kiss banning her music won't make any impact...since they don't play much of it to begin with. Y101 is hardly a factor in Ottawa because it has such a crappy signal. It's basically a west and south end station only.
