Otto McDonald Passes

I just learned that Henry Otto McDonald passed away Tuesday, October 15. Many of you will remember Otto as a staple on WELP in Easley, SC during the 1950's and 60's. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Hank" by his listeners. Otto became owner of WLET AM and FM in Toccoa, GA. around 1969 and owned it for many years until he sold the station and retired in 1985. Not only was Otto a great radio personality but he was also an engineer. At one time he taught radio engineering part time at Greenville Tech night school.
