OUCH! KFI/KOGO BLOOPERS

KFI in LA has really good news and does a good job of news coverage.

But they need to work on their "localization." KFI newscaster Michael Crozier was doing newscasts on KFI for KFI, but kept making reference to "here in San Diego" as though he was doing a newscast on KOGO. What a mess.

KFI is a WAY better radio station than KOGO. Couldn't "Cheap Channel" just simulcast KFI in San Diego, especially since a lot of the same talk show hosts appear on both stations? KFI is anyway a part of the listening habits of a lot of San Diegans and it would be like extending the reach of KFI. Or they could arrange their automation to broadcast local ads in San Diego, etc.

But if CC simulcasted KFI wouldn't that count against their limit of stations either in LA or San Diego? I'm pretty sure I remember reading that they had to stop sending KGB into Riverside via 103.3 (KGBB at the time) and converted it to Q103 instead because of the ownership rules.

I don't quite remember the full details on this one, but in todays radio standards it shouldn't be a problem to have KFI simulcast in SD.
