OUCH!

Is it us, or does the processing on Mega 104~three sound terrible? Nurse Jeff and I find it more squished than the rear legroom of our '76 Gremlin Levi's Special. OUCH! We like a lot of their music, but the processing makes Mega sound like it's on AM. And by now everyone knows what TMISU have to say about AM stations!

something get goofed-up when they moved the xmtr to towers mountain ???

iirc, the owners of mega also own orban; the company that makes processing equip used by a lot of stations ;)

Well, it could be a variety of things:

1. A faulty exciter from the Harris (or Nautel. or BE) factory that came with the new rig.

2. The settings on their STL.

3. The T1 line that sends the programming from downtown Scottsdale to Crown King (if KVIB doesn't have problems doing this, why does KAJM?)

4. The music is stored in their computer system in compressed MP3 format

or

5. A combination of any of the above.

It's been nearly two months. How come they haven't solved this problem yet?

Because the people at Mega are just biding their time until the station gets sold (almost had one deal done a few weeks ago...). Making it sound good is someone else's problem. All they wanted to do was get the signal moved in so the value of the stick would increase. Mega's owners stopped caring about competing along time ago.
