Martin exchanges obscenities with reporter

DENVER (AP) -- Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin exchanged obscenities with a reporter as he was getting dressed after Friday night's 113-104 win over the Dallas Mavericks.

Martin had asked the reporter, identified by Nuggets spokesman Eric Sebastian as Dino Costa of the Radio Colorado Network, to move away from his locker while he finished dressing.

When Costa approached Martin a second time, the player again told him to move and added an obscenity.

Costa asked Martin to repeat himself, and Martin replied with an obscenity.

Costa repeated that to Martin, which caused Nuggets personnel to force the reporter out of the locker room before Martin had answered any questions. The men exchanged more words as Costa left.

Martin has had a contentious relationship with the media recently, accusing it of manufacturing problems after two off-the-court incidents this month.

Martin left for the locker room with 3 minutes remaining in Denver's loss at Utah on Feb. 1. He said he went to get ice treatments and returned for the game's final seconds.

Then on Wednesday, two fans accused Martin of telling a man to confront them after one heckled Martin for sitting out the game with an injured knee. One fan later said he exchanged words with Martin after the game. No police report was filed.

Martin has said he knew the man, but denied having any involvement in the incident.

"I know the guy, but I didn't direct nobody to go into the stands," he said Thursday. "I was watching the game."

He declined to comment about the incident after he scored a season-high 34 points Friday.

"That's why I play, so I don't have to listen to you all's mouth," he said.

He must be under the weather. Doesn't Dino post his own I-wanna-be-a-big-shot-reporter stories?
