Out of market question....Katrina, etc

I know that a lot of the astute radio listeners in New Orleans might know the answer to this...or if it was covered in the NO media.

This video went viral after Katrina, and people all over the country saw this and wondered if these people were ever dealt with judicially.

Did anything happen to these people in the video? Did the local media ever follow-up on this?

Thanks!

It was determined if it was considered something nessessary such as clothes, batteries etc no one I think was prosecuted for it... The ones stealing the TVs and such if they were found and could be Ided and normally committed another crime was picked up for it. I think some police looters lost their jobs and served a few days in jail..

wanna know more, search http://www.nola.com

This doesn't provide any direct answer to your question, but Bob Edwards.... previously with Morning Edition on NPR and now with XM-Sirius has been doing several weeks of interviews with people in New Orleans on the show that airs on the week on a lot of NPR stations.

These are not fluffy little cotton-candy interviews. A week or two ago he recorded an hour or so driving around town in an SUV with the Landrieu family, including the patriarch who used to be mayor a number of years ago. In some of these programs Bob asks question very close to what you have asked.... and had received some rather direct answers. You will find Podcasts of these interviews at Bob Edwards Weekend.
