This is a review of the TELEVES DAT BOSS MIX LR as well as a comparison to the UHF Channel Master CM 4228 HD 8 Bay and the Stellar Labs and essentially similar Xtreme Signal Yagi HDB91x. From my home in North Prescott, the following was observed:

Since the Televes has a built in pre-amp, I felt it only fair to provide the Channel Master and the Stellar Labs/Xtreme Signal with comparable. Those two were used in combination with an Antennas Direct "JUICE" Preamp. Signal strength and quality were observed for each antenna, with and without amplification. The better of the two is reflected in the data above. The television used is a 3 year old LG OLED. Each antenna was mounted and rotated, using my ancient channel master rotor, to provide the best signal/quality. In some cases, the signal/quality did not peak at the same point. Under those circumstances, the data above reflects the best signal strength. Part 2 will test the antennas in N.E. Phoenix.

Conclusion: In most every case, the Televes outperformed the other two antennas on UHF. The Televes also receives VHF High and VHF LOW. Assembly is challenging and a fairly long process. Pictograms provide help but there are no printed/word instructions. A picture of the antenna, properly assembled, is NOT provided. The antenna is very sturdy. The only exception being the newly designed Low VHF reflector/director. I fabricated my own additional support to provide additional rigidity. TELEVES is based in SPAIN. They engineer/design/manufacture their products from beginning to end. In the U.S. Televes has offices in Denver, Colorado. Customer support was excellent. The Televes was able to read Rf 8 and Rf 10, some 90+ miles away, over mountainous terrain. My television indicated KAET and KSAZ, respectively but was unable to produce any audio or video. The so-called "digital cliff" on my televisions signal meter is between 35 and 40.

Disclaimer: I purchase these antennas and review without any assistance, remuneration or bias.
