Outrageous Talk Show Hosts

Guest
A columnist for the San Jose Mercury-News (Knight-Ridder Newspapers) calls some nationally syndicated hosts "delusional." He also contends that without Clinton to kick around, talk show hosts have started attacking each other.

More likely, IMHO, ratings are dropping for ALL talk radio and these guys are going over the top to get people's attention.

From Radio Daily News:

Bill O'Reilly, Michael Savage and Rush Limbaugh: Delusional talk show hosts?
I know you have to have a big ego to be in radio and fill the airwaves with your opinions. But from some of the things I heard the last few days, you have to be delusional too. Rush imitator Bill O'Reilly, whose "No Spin Zone" spins more than Linda Blair's head in "The Exorcist," told his audience the other night on KNEW-AM (910) that gas prices were coming down because of his complaints about them on his radio show. Yeah, right. Does anyone with more than half a brain believe that? ...

All right! Get 'em in the mud pits! Preferably with deadly weapons!

I rather doubt that ratings are in the red for Hartmann, Schultz and Rhodes. Judging from the amount of rightwing slamming on the Thom Hartmann messageboards he has got their attention recently and they see him as a serious threat.

I would agree about the other two, but not about Savage. When he says he's finished talking about politics, it's because after 5 years of Bush he's run out of good things to say. At least he's honest enough to admit that.
______________

If he had the guts he claims he's not afraid to show, he'd take on Bush and the neocons just as strongly as he complained (and still complains) about Democrats who don't have the power to turn off the lights in a hearing room these days, much less have any effect on what is going on there. But no, we'll get a handful of complaints here and there, at least until the next Democratic "outrage." I wonder if listeners have woken up to the shiny keys distraction techique oft-used by the right to distract from their own scandals.

Any time I've had Savage on lately, he doesn't have much good to say about Bush, particularly regarding immigration, not prosecuting the war aggressively enough, and supreme court nominees.

Bill Clinton will be around for a while. And Hillary is always a good kick! There will always be opponents on both sides (ie: plenty of fodder).

A pointless observation by

Am I the only one who at first read Infidel's name as an editorial comment in the forum thread list?

Clinton - Infidel

Maybe I should get back to work.

O'Reilly also believes Bush schedules televised speeches to avoid conflicts with the TV factor. He had success with one campaign (the Ludicris/Pepsi deal) and now thinks he's some sort of Super-Pundit.
