As someone who was just in town for a few days for X-mas, I wanted to offer a tip of the 10 gallon hat to Beasley for their recent switch to country. With that switch they went from a dying format that didn't attract anyone under the age of 65 to a fresh, real radio format that's going to pull alot of cume away from the market leader. I heard "Coyote" on in a number of locations plus alot of family members who like country are now listening to Coyote instead of KWNR. Posters on this board must remember that regular radio listeners don't listen like people in "the business" do. The mini-focus groups I did said they like Coyote because it's "different", and "something new"...one person told me that "now they can switch to another country station when the one I'm listening to is playing commercials". Almost everyone also commented on Coyote's t.v. commercial. So congrats to Beasley for signing on a viable format and spending the money to do it right. There's no doubt that Coyote will pull alot of cume from KWNR and bring them back down to earth with the rest of us mere mortals!
