Over all what is an easier sell rock or alternative rock?

I would think rock is an easier sell. Alternative/indie rock has a niche audience. I love the alt format but i would guess rock would be an easier sell. Seems like over the past several months alot of alts have gone away for instance 105.9 in florida blew up into a adult hits station and a station in augusta went from sctive to smooth jazz. But getting back to my point seems like rock is an easier sell. I will take indie/alt antday over seether or mudvayne or korn but thats just me. Thats why in my opinion alt/active stations are not good. Noone at least not me wants to here metallica follwoed by modest mouse and not on the same station yuk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it has to do more with what region of the country that you talking about and also the trends that come about. I've notice that the rock (classic/active) is a much more easier sell here in the southeast than alternative rock in recent years much to my dismay.

Much to my dismay also. All my hometown of louisville ky has is an triple a which is fine but i have to stream when i want alt music

Market and demos like stated. Rock overall would probably be an easier sell. Less niche than alt/indie. I hate Nickelback! haha
