Over-Under on Slater

What is the over-under bet on Megan Slater and how long do you think she will be with Wilks before they blast her out of the building.

3 GM'S in what a year...same number of PD's...Dont look good.

actually chris thomas was the pd for at least a couple of years there. i believe he got the stripes when he was moved to middays when they got rid of daveman. although it does seem kind of strange that she would get this gig and then the GM is out so soon... you know, assuming that CT wouldn't have hired his own replacement and all...

even more odd is the posting from All Access on april 30th:

WILKS Active Rock WLVQ/COLUMBUS, OH PD CHRIS THOMAS exits due to budget cuts.

And from may 1st:

"WILKS BROADCAST GROUP Rock WLVQ/COLUMBUS, OH brings in MEGAN SLATER to be PD/middays. Crossing the street from the same gig at NORTH AMERICAN Rock WRKZ..."

she was never the PD there but whatever...
one of two things here. Either they are getting her for nothing or they realized that you really do need a PD and a midday personality. Maybe this explains why the GM is gone now...ha

The reason Wilks is going through GM"S is because they want someone who will go out and sell. When you bring in GM's who have 25+ years of management experience, the last thing they want to do is make cold calls. They expect to MANAGE the sales staff. Wilks doesn't work that way. On the PD side, Slater will do what she is told to do by the VP of programming for Wilks. That's what led to CT's dismissal. Turns out, he really wanted to program and be a buffer between sales and on-air. It would be interesting to hear the bill of goods Wilks sells to prospective employees only to have them experience something completely different when they are hired.
