Overcomer Ministry ending radio broadcasts

Getting somewhat back on topic: The “Classic Redneck Radio” programming that had replaced Overcomer on WRMI has itself disappeared from that station’s schedule. WRMI is running World Radio Network as filler. CRR may have quickly run out of money, or had no response to its programming on shortwave.

Looks like Jeff White might be having some trouble finding paying clients to replace all the hours Overcomer once purchased in WRMI.

it is never a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket.
Too many transmitters, not enough bookings, which is affecting all private shortwave broadcasters in the U.S.

WRMI was too dependent on Overcomer to fill air time. With that gone I have no idea what is going to take its place. The Classic Redneck Radio organization probably didn’t have money to continue, or got no response from its broadcasts.

I suspect more and more program producers, even those who are normally clueless about the current state of shortwave radio, are realizing that the audience is gone, except for the most die-hard SW enthusiasts, which is a tiny number.

WWCR in Nashville has lost almost half its bookings in the past year. One of their four transmitters was closed down at the beginning of this year, and a second unit is only on air four hours a day. Chatter on DX forums that revenue is way down.

It's well into September, and a quick check of WEW has Brother Stair still stepping in St. Louis. Maybe Overcomer will stay on with some of the Birach stations.
