"Overnight America" on 106.9

Hearing "Overnight America" w/ John Grayson syndicated out of KMOX in St. Louis right now. Per the show's webpage:
Welcome to Overnight America with Jon Grayson, radio’s most exciting new talk show! Every weeknight Jon takes your calls on the issues of the day and visits with celebrity guests. Unlike the agenda-driven, overbearing and overtly political talk that pervades elsewhere, Overnight America provides an upbeat, fresh and intelligent take on the stories that matter most to you. If you’re thinking about it, we’re talking about it.

Weekdays, Midnight to 5am.

Of note: KMOX is owned by CBS. Or as the liners on IQ will tell you, "Can't Be Smart".

My head hurts :-\

So IQ is running liners taking potshots at CBS' "liberal BS," yet they plug in a show emanating from a station owned by CBS? That's not very smart... :-\

When I was working in NYC a few years back, engineers I knew at CBS said it stood for "Can't Buy S***". ;D

It's neither here nor there. Overnight America is syndicated by Dial-Global, and the CBS digs are an industry insider thing that Randy Michaels apparently likes. Once the station's up and running (July), I'd expect them to decrease in frequency and mention WPHT by name if anybody, though IQ has just taken PHT's marquee program, so the competition's pretty much over before it begins.

Overnight America's a serviceable personality driven show with a mix of lifestyle and center-right politics which is designed to be foreground like "Red Eye Radio" as opposed to Coast to Coast which is, I guess, supposed to put you to sleep if it's not too annoying to listen to in the first place. After all, we get to hear conspiracy theory all day on the talkers and TV anyway.
