overnight dj firings?

The other board is reporting Clear Channel may have fired their entire lineup of overnight djs in New York. Anyone know if this is true? If it is, the sad state of radio continues its decline. Very pathetic indeed if true. Charlie Berger over at WKTU is a true radio legend. It is a real travesty what is going on lately for all the djs involved.

I am sick and tired of radio companies getting rid of the "farm team"
Wether it be the small town announcer, or the Major market overnight person that just wants to polish up whatever... (or even the major market jock that just wants to polish up in the smaller market period!)
 
To put it in the recent words of a NY radio veteran I spoke with this week....

LEAN TIMES AHEAD FOR US, MY FREIND....

They did something similar a few years ago where they were going to voicetrack Z100 overnights from some small market or something?. This is really not a new or unexpected move from Clear channel, but where have you been? lean times, AHEAD?. What do you see when you look around you NOW?.
