Opinions? What does your station play at night? If you're wondering why there's not a lot of songs played from 5am-6am, my station plays Kid Kraddick in the Morning. So only a few songs are played. I decided to stop at 6am because Kidd Kraddick is on until 10am. ::)

Alot of stations, usually in smaller markets, use overnights as a "re-adjustment" to line up songs (usually powers) in the day how they want them, using bump clocks, and hours with few currents, to pull the line up back into order.

Usually Stations between 5 and 6 am are already into there Morning shows thats why also stations dont play many songs between 6 and 10 am either. 10am to 5am are the hours most songs are played in

there's generally speaking more music played in the overnights because of a lack of commercials. My station plays 12-14 songs an hour in a normal hour 10a-12a, but usually 18-20 in the overnight hours, so to avoid rotations getting cluttered (i.e. I don't want my powers to play every hour in the overnights), I play more recurrents and golds to balance it out.

You mean no one plays more newer songs in exchange for record company swag anymore? It's the American way, and why God invented overnights!!!

;)
