Overwhelming Latin America E-skip 8-8-2011

I just could not handle all the E-skip to Latin America today. From Dominican Republic (TA ch 2) east, all the way to Guatemala/El Salvador to the west (including the flea power Guatemalans on 87.5 & 87.9 MHz).

Also I rarely get analog E-skip above ch 4, but I managed to get a fuzzy signal out of ch 5 "El Lider" in Honduras.

FM was all the way to 107.7 (I have a semi local on 107.9), with RDS readout "R. MEGA" which Googling leads to Guatemala.

I recorded a lot of it, but it'll take me 2 or more days to sort this out. I'm pooped.....and the season was supposed to have ended a week ago...

In Chicago I did notice the AM was less open to the east and west, but signals from the south were booming.
Whatever is was was affecting things down into the MW.

I believe there was an Auroral event over the weekend.
