Which site is that from? Doesn't look like the Millville site to me, at least not as I remember it.

The current site in Corbin City. The Vineland
towers are only like 200 feet or less.

Did WIXM get a new tower?

The towers at the old site (Lincoln Ave, Vineland) before Corbin City are still used by WMVB-1440. When 97.3 was there, the antenna was only 195 ft AAT. Wish 97.3 could return there and with the format it had back in 1962 when it first came on the air -- but what was can never be again. Remember when Cumberland County had two Class B FMers before 97.3 was first hijacked to Atlantic City and now to Trenton (still claiming Millville as COL) and 107.7 was hijacked to Philadelphia (COL Pennsauken)? When does Class A 92.1 get hijacked to Wilmington with a COL of Salem or nearby????? leaving Cumberland with zilch??

Tom

We have spent many many times there, many "fun" times. New tower looks nice.

Not sure I understand how 97.3 has been "hijacked to Trenton." They still use Millville as the city of license because it still is the city of license. Millville and surrounding environs are the areas 97.3 "serves," even if they are doing it with a simulcast of New Jersey 101.5.

And I'm not even sure about "what was can never be again" comment. Remember how New Jersey 101.5 used to be "proud to serve South Jersey at 97.3 FM?" Then they were Mix 97.3...and now they again have "expanded South Jersey coverage on 97.3!" See? Something that was now is again! ;-)

I have to agree with Spruuceman on this one. 97.3 hasn't "served" it's city of license since it was "Boss 97," and even then, it was marketed to Atlantic City.

Re: Own a part of Boss 97 - Arbitron

While WIXM, formerly WBSS and WMVB-FM may not read
the Millville School lunch menus or lost dog announcements
anymore, if you'll take a look at the Cumberland County
breakout of the Arbitron since the power increase to
50,000 watts, you'll see that it's consistantly been
at the top of the ratings, as "Boss 97" "New Jersey 101.5"
and "Mix 97.3" The people of Millville seem to like it.
