Ozomatli gone from 98.7....already?!

987 is not going anywhere anytime soon.

the 12+ is useless for ratings. NOBODY uses it for ANYTHING. I have seen stations get a 1-2 share in the 12+ and then have a 10 in the target demo.

If you look at the PPM ratings on this website under the ratings tab you will see KROQ is in 9th place and 98.7 is in 10th place. Is 98.7 really bombing when it's only one place behind KROQ??

I created a demo of 21-44 which would focus on the most salable aspects of these stations.

In that age range, KROQ is #2 whikle KHHT is #15. KYSR is 19th.

The issue here is probably more complicated, and includes current billing as well as cluster strategy; KYSR blocks KROQ from beating KIIS while KHHT is less strategic (particulary now that KXOL has so fragged KPWR that it is down to 6th and no longer challenges the top 5 positions).

Remember, ratings are bought mostly for sales. And sales is as much about keeping money from going to competitors as it is about money coming to your own station.

How well does indie 1031 do in there target demo?

In 21 to 44, it is 38th. It does not do well in any demo.

David, are you able to look at those numbers for Indie in JUST the area that they cover?

I took the sampling units of LA Southwest and Orange County, and the 12+ rank is 40th and the 21-44 is 42nd.

The info Im shown is in the Southwest KDLD 25-54 is #7

That is probably the Southwest Balance without the Southwest HDHA. In any case, I did both plus the Orange County Balance and OC HDHA, whcih shows the coverage of both the 103.1 signals, not just the Santa Monica one. And I suspect you are looking at Maximiser data from the Spring book. There have been 3 PPM books since then. I am using the most recent.

In SW Balance (SW without the HDHA) KDLD is 22nd in 12+ and 28th (tie) in 21 to 44. 25-54, it is 11th. SW and OC all 4 sample frames gets 33rd.

That's surprising that they're that far apart when they're so close in the 12+. Why is that? KYSR has a higher percent of listeners <21 or >44?

I know that...just surprised that they don't draw the same aged crowd...musically they don't sound that different (to me at least).
