Ozy Radio 3210KHZ 5050KHZ

Anyone heard this one? Back in May (16th?), a DXer in Pa. reported he heard them at least once on 5050 between 09:00 and 11:00 UTC.

I've tuned to both 3210 and 5050, but have not yet had success. Of course, during daylight hours 5050 is the better candidate in N.A.

Station is located in Sydney NSW, and I assume it is a commercial venture. Believe the power is .4 kilowatts.

As of May, they were still testing.

Over at the radio ranch I have heard them on 3210... at night anyway. Not bad for only running 0.3 Kw.

Usually have better luck on 3210. Anything on 5050 gets obliterated by that 100-gallon station known as The Overcomer Ministry out of TN.

For the heck of it, I just logged onto a remote Perseus receiver located in Brisbane, Australia and found a weakish signal coming through on 5050 with oldies rock music. Nothing heard on 3210. I haven't caught an ID yet but it's probably them. I haven't tried from home since my outside antennas are disconnected for the summer but this would be an awesome catch from here at 300 or 400 watts! There's another flea power Aussie way down on 2368 khz - Radio Symban, but I've never been able to hear it from Michigan. Sunrise has always been the best time for me to hear Australia on the low bands - 2310 khz, 2325 khz, etc.

These would be the ABC Northern Territory frequencies, which (along with 2485 kHz) sign on at 0830 UTC (0330 EDT), running at 50 kW. I'd like to snag these and I'm an fairly earlier riser, but my wife would think that I'm a nut bar, listening to white noise at 4 in the morning. :D

Oh I do, using a pretty good pair of Sonys. And even though I do almost all of my radio DXing in our shared studio space (I do this while I work, here at home), she doesn't hear any 'leakage'.

But still...she thinks we're all a bit 'off', with our little hobby. :D

Don't feel bad they all do. When we're on vacation and I go near the window late at night to DX my wife used to think I was nuts.
Now she's used to it.
