P&K after one week.....

What does everyone (that listens) think of P&K after their first week on 1360?

I have only listened Monday and Tuesday but this show is MUCH better than the show they had on 93.3! When their show was on the Bone it was horrible but I am kind of digging them now that they are on 1360. From what I've heard, I give them a C+ (which is good for current DFW radio).

I could do with a LOT less conversation about John & Kate + 8.
Other than that, they've been pretty good.
Too bad the show that leads into theirs is so atrocious.

i'm glad they are back it's nice to hear them more and no music. i always enjoyed them when they were on 105.3 and listening once in awhile on 93.3. i met them a couple of times, the first time was when they appeared live at The Movie Trading Company off of Greenville near Lovers and once in Cedar Hill. Very nice people easy to talk to. once i saw Kelly at 105.3 during a break and she stopped and said hello. welcome back Pegs and Kelly, thanks again. it would be nice to see Russ and Pegs and Kelly and Lekis back.

What bugs me about the show is the constant free plugs for Emil Cirrulo's (sp?) real estate venture. Am I the only one that sees the constant, "Phones being answered by s***lofts.com" as an annoying irritant? By the way, the asterisks are an attempt not to give him another free plug!

What makes you think those are 'free' plugs?

Those, and the Bob lovell home marketing commercials are probably how they're paying themselves and for the airtime.

After all, how many advertisers do you think are going to jump on board a station that is currently rated around 50TH in the ratings.

Well, when they do show up in the ratings. IIRC, there's some demographics and dayparts that they just flat-out don't exist in.

P&K talking about TV?? No way.

Really. They are much better suited to discuss String Theory and recitations of Chaucer in the original Old English.

I've always thought P&K should team up with Milt Rosenberg from WGN in Chicago to do a few shows like that. It's rational radio, right? Although i'm sure they would party with Ed Schultz.

They have to call it "rational radio" because the only way they can back up the idiocy that comes out of their mouths is by rationalizing it. They bring nothing to the table. Not even facts.

My table is full as it is. P&K's clueless wit is a unique commodity in an industry where sanctimonious bloviating radio talking heads wander the plains like the vast buffalo herds of yore.

Well, if you'd actually listened to the show, you would know they aren't trying to be political.
They are doing what they've always done. Pop-culture, TV, kids, family, etc.
No philosophy, very little in the way of even breezing past a political topic, and I don't suppose they would be expected to.
I would assume management knew exactly what they were getting.
A show that brings in sponsors. Right now I would guess RR needs money more than numbers for the short term.
