P&K ARE BACK!

:-\ Can someone enlighten me about these 2..like them, hate them? Ive never heard their show (at least I dont think I have) I do know they are from here in Chicago, )got their start on WLUP.
 
You either love these two or hate them. Personally, they annoy the daylights out of me. It is my opinion that personalities should bring something to the table. These two do not. I realize that you cannot expect the on air personality to know everything, but they should at least make an effort to know something about a wide variety of topics. I cannot decide whether these two are really as ignorant as they sound or if it is an act. In either case, it is pathetic. I do not agree with BDH's politics, but I do admire and respect the fact that he can offer a logical reason for his beliefs. Whenever Pugs and Kelly do make an attempt at being topical/political, it is based purely on emotion. Listening to Kelly's attempt at being relevant is comparable to that of a 8 year old trying to discuss quantum physics (and I do not mean to offend 8 year olds). The only time I could ever stomach P&K on 105.3 were the days that BDH was either guest hosting or filling in for one of them.

I guess "rational radio" doesn't care to be the left-wing news talk station it set out to be. Fine by me. While I realize that all news folk have opinions, I'd just as soon not have them tossed in my face all the time. The right and left wing talkers can all take a flying leap, so far as I'm concerned.

Any way you slice, KERA remains the only credible news outlet in this town so far as radio goes.
 
Great! Another failed show on a station that nobody listens to! The way I hear it, 1360 is up for lease again. Rational radio is having cash problems and will lose the lease if anyone steps forward to pick up the lease from the owners....
 
Here's the big question. Are they paying the talent or is it all trade for spots? Or, are they working for free in hopes they can create some revenue for the station? ???
 
1360 is that 1 notch above college radio or 2 notches below college radio.
Not only is the pay scale a good question but do you think P&K will carry in their own headphones?

Surely, part of the deal was each would have their own intern.
Don't you think?

Would Sybil leave 105.3 to join them at 1360???

I don't think so..... But I do HATE the way stations like 820 CRAM the news in a the top of the hour. They create stress with their mile-a-minute rendition fo the headlines. That's what's so great about 90.1..... they don't always cram the news down you...... I feel insulted when that's done.... but that's "today's" hip news format.... I just turn off the radio when 820, or any other stations starts ramming the headlines at me... NO THANKS!!

BTY, I get my News from Michael Savage, and NOT from Russ or Sean, or Bill!

If Only Someone Would Pay to Have That Station Turn Into A
Rock And Roll Oldies Format.
We Have NO Oldies Station In All Of Dallas That Does That.
Not Since 92.1 Went Country[KXEZ].

Well, you never know...if the current format were to crumble, there's always a slight chance that RETRO RADIO could make another appearance! (It's been one year ago now, as of May 23. :'( ) I don't know what we'd do this time...I'd like to program a REAL pop 80s station sometime, or perhaps do an all-out KXOL-1360 redux. I know some of the guys are just itching to do it all again.

I liked Retro Radio. Especially During the weekends when that one guy hosted that Oldies Show.
