P&K FINALLY - Some confirmation

Well, Gavin FINALLY made an official announcement about P&K. Nothing more than "the station and P&K have decided to part ways" and stay tuned for an announcement about a new show soon. That's it. Only took them a month, too.

Well I hate to say this but as soon as Gavin walked out I turned my radio dial. It will probably never be on 1053 again.

Gavin basically said nothing, but at least he strung us along for 3 weeks! Should help the next ratings period.

I think it's funny that he blows out P&K and finds himself left with Russ Martin to save his station. Jagger didn't do his show any favors by being an ass about it either.

Strange...I used to tape their show and listen to all of it and I never heard that. Besides, I'm sure none of us are guilty for complaining about our employer. Russ does it all the time too.

I never heard it either, but if they did say bad things about CBS Radio, I now agree with whatever they said.

P&K were not fired. They walked and had some conflicts with the station. The announcement was not made right away due to legal issues pending.

No offense intended, but P&K don't have the clout to be able to walk out and expect to land another gig asap. Smart thing is to wait until they can you and get paid for the rest of your contract.

As I said on another thread, if the issues were they wanted more money, and CBS wasn't willing to cough it up, they have to decide do they want to work for curent salary, or walk away...

That would explain the extended silence, the delayed official annoucement etc. And it might explain why the Bone rumors are already started. If they are at the end of their contract, and have a short no-compete, they could cross teh street realtively quickly...

The only thing I can think of is bitching about having to watch what they say because of FCC rules. It may have been the constant complaining about not being able to even use the letter "F" in the MILK pageant. And when it comes down to it, they didn't have the juice to get away with it like Russ . . . did.

A mutual friend confirmed last week that they were NOT fired... so they must have quit and/or got a better offer from somewhere else.
