Post Stern

A non-scientific observation based on what morning show friends and co-workers are listening to and talking about since Stern evaporated: Shredd & Ragan by about 2 to 1 over Norton & Lederman. Again, non-scientific sampling, mostly white guys, 18 to 45 years old.

Could be an interesting Winter book for the two leading guy stations in Buffalo. Wouldn't be surprised to see both of them go up in Men, 25-54.

This said, it's somewhat surprising to hear how many guys listen (or say they listen) to Jack in the morning. I suspect this happens when the two other morning shows go into (lengthy) commercial breaks.

Personally, i think that whats left of the numbers are in the process of evaporating to other mediums. The winter arbs dont show it much. Sorry, but Radio as we know it is about to go through an evolutionary change. Downsizing, way more syndication, the talent pool is leaving and a lot less money to be had. Good luck, but im not sure if Radio will adjust well to "Podcasting".<P ID="signature">______________

Our crews seem to prefer Shredd & Ragan now that Howard has taken a hike. But here's a surprise: Tom Joyner gets significant attention a few days a week. The show is universally enjoyable (even for white guys in the 'burbs hanging dry wall and spraying sealer on walls.) Jack gets an occasional listen later in the day, well after morning drive is over.
