Pacers Basketball

If I'm in my car and a game's on, I'm listening and learning from Mark Boyle. As a hobbyist play-by-play man myself, he's my biggest influence.

I doubt anyone is paying attention to Pacers basketball. I caught a game a couple of weeks ago and noticed a lot of avails on the network.

Of course, when any team has several consecutive seasons winning 30% of their games, the value of the radio network will decline significantly.

During the long Winter nights that make up their season, reception of 1070 is terrible in Hamilton County. Indy needs an FM sports station. I have to watch on Fox Sports Indiana because The Fan is unlistenable.

I have the same problem out in western Hendricks County. I would like to see them simulcast the games on Hank FM at least on nights when Hank isn't doing IU basketball. The Colts are simulcast on both stations and it would make it possible for more poeple to listen to Pacer's basketball on the radio. 1070 the fan has a terrible singnal at night locally. Most of the time I get a weak signal or no singnal at all from 1070. I can"t get WNDE at night at all. The only local sports station I can pick up at night is XL 950 witch really has nothing left worth listening to. Boyle and Leonard are great on the Pacer broadcast but it doesn't do much good if no one locally can listen to them. It's pretty bad when I can listen to the Pacers clear as a bell when I'm in Georgia on 1070 but I can't hear the game when I'm in Danville.
