Padres may pre-empt NFL on Fox6

Padres' local TV is mostly cable (Cox 4) with some ESPN and Fox network games.

For the playoffs Fox6 is picking up the ESPN telecasts. If the Padres play a Game 4 in St. Louis tomorrow, Fox6 will pre-empt an NFL game if necessary to carry the Padres. This is per yesterday's Union-Tribune.

Both the Padres (ESPN) and Chargers (NBC) play at 5 PM PDT tonight, so there won't be any morning conflicts with the NFL on Fox. The game was originally scheduled for 10 AM, but was moved to prime-time since the other series' are over.

Padres now WON'T pre-empt the NFL

Thanks to the Mets' sweep of the Dodgers last night.

BTW, had the Padres played at 10 AM PT today the Redskins-Giants game would have been bumped to my13 in San Diego.

Correction: The game was switched to Fox sometime today. MLB.com had said ESPN this morning.
