Painkiller Jane Debuts At 10PM Eastern Tonight On SCI FI

So will this be a halfway decent series or will it be offal? The showrunner is Gil Grant, who was a writer on NCIS and 24. It's based on a 1995 comic book created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Joe Quesada. SCI FI aired a TV movie version starring Emmanuelle Vaugier (Saw II) in 2005; apparently the series will differ greatly from that TV movie and hew closer to the comic book.

Here's the series' synopsis...

The series stars Loken as Jane Vasco, a DEA agent recruited by the United States government to track down people that have been genetically enhanced (called "Neuros"). Vasco's small team of agents work from an abandoned subway platform. She also finds that she can recover quickly from her injuries, however, despite being virtually indestructible, she still feels pain. [EDIT].

I'll remain cautiously optimistic but then again this IS SCI FI we're talking about, a channel that continually eschews the format it's purportedly devoted to (ECW, anyone?).
