PAMAL SELLS MASSACHUSETTS STATION

PAMAL- 6 Johnson road licenses, headquartered in Latham has sold WPNI-AM 1430, Amherst, Ma. The Love Church organization.
This according to the FCC daily digest. The station operates 5KW days and 11 watts nights with an oval shaped pattern favoring north-south. I wonder how many more stations they will dispose of?

Here is where this gets crazy. Although Tamara K. Thayer is listed on the application, the sale is actually to Brian Dodge’s Love Church. According to Scott Fybush in this week’s North East Radio Report “Love Church has put down $10K, will pay another $25K at closing with Pamal financing the remaining $65K.Dodge can’t even afford to run 560 WCKL Catskill properly. He was evicted from the Clear Channel owned Greenport location, for failure to pay the rent. Recently his decrepit transmitter, which he has not maintained, was causing interference on the ham radio band. The last time I heard the station, the modulation was gradually get worse. Do you remember him asking for a donated transmitter to replace the ancient one that,WCKL has used with little maintenance for years, since day one. As far as I know he has not repaired the cable feeding one of the towers that was cut last summer. How the hell can he afford WPNI? Why does the FCC allow a sale like this? And finally didn’t Pamal do any due diligence to find out the type of disreputable person they are dealing with? It is not just a matter of them wanting to be rid of the station, but is Dodge really credit worthy? Will they get paid? I think something is rotten in his transferring WCKL from Family Broadcasting to Love Church. I wonder if Black United Fund has been fully paid. The payments there were minimal. Where is he getting the money from? Religious broadcasting aside I doubt Dodge’s, to put it kindly, amateurish operation at WCKL draws many listeners. I wonder if he plans to keep WCKL on the air.
