Panama City is in the middle of a book and no one ever says anything. What do these stations need to do? How is this book gonna turn out? Whats going on a the various companies? Will any of these stations have jocks after this book.WPAP WILN WYOO WYYX WEBZ WFSY WPFM WAKT WVVE WPBH WRBAWASJ WFBXWLTGWDJR WAKE UP

Working in PCB radio is a thrill a minute, but watching the ratings is usually a yawner. WPAP has enough #1 books stacked up to start a bonfire y'all can see in Jax. But there is motion elsewhere in the market. Remember that the fall 05 numbers available for public consumption (posted on R&R for instance) are actually a two-book average. In the isolated fall 12-week numbers, Island dropped nearly 5 shares overall and just nipped the Great 108 by about a share-and-a-half. Don't be shocked to see PFM slip past the Mighty Fine 105.9 this time around.

Wonder if PFM's new "Dance" lean (ie. every other song is a dance remix) will have any impact on their numbers...

Why did you list WDJR? They are DOWNGRADING their antenna height by 500 ft....Channel 4 in Dothan needed the loading and space for their HDTV antenna....Channel 4 owns the tower and makes the rules....DJR will not be heard in PC after they go to their "new" site...although they will still be a factor in the TSA. Someone (an engineer) actually told the people at DJR that they would get out better if they lowered their antenna by 500 ft.....and they believed it and that is what they are telling everyone....I heard this from a friend in Dothan who would know....go figure....look at the map....do the math.....they will LOOSE a lot of coverage....on FM, antenna height is 70% of what determines your coverage area.....especially in the flat lands of the panhandle. We also have yet ANOTHER station coming on the air soon in Panama City, licensed to Lynn Haven....yeah, they really need a station ;)It will be 6kw and will have its antenna on a tower basically in the middle of Panama City. It certainly won't be a regional station like PAP, FBX, PFM, YYX or FSY but could be a factor locally.....we will just have to wait and see what kind of operator these folks are....they haven't set the woods on fire elsewhere, but you never know...

Odd....I was told the ARB rolling average was postponed until 2007 for condensed markets

My prediction is everyone will be fired. EVERYONE. Styles/CC/Double OH. They are all gonna be fired. I have a reliable friend who says this will be the first-ever entire market shakedown. I heard DR Shane is leaving PAP. My friend in another market got his resume tape and a bottle of Crown in the mail. cARRIE uNDERWOOD will be his replacement. Also, 7 new stations are being licensed to the market. I heard they're signing on two more CHR's... the owner will be "light as a cloud"! I heard that there is some major action planned for smooth jazz, pap, beat, great 105.9, beach, sunny, etc. but i can't tell you what, other than...Again... EVERYONE WILL BE FIRED... TWICE!

A friend of a friend with a reliable source told me a liberal talk and a hot talk were coming in to the market... controlled by the "light as a cloud" crowd. When that expect the amount of ad revenue sucked up to force all the stations to enact mass layoffs, that may be where you heard about the firings. PC Radio will soon be one giant jukebox.

Breaking News!!!

Every DJ will be forced to play Deal or No Deal for their job. C.C. has connections with Howie Mandell and will fly him in for the contest to be held at Edgewater. Date and time not set yet.

PART 2

After the success of American Idol this week, CC is also staging a "DJ IDOL" and will force Dj's to compete for their jobs in a mock version of the TV show.

Hell, there's only one jock left in town anyway--voice-tracks all shifts for all stations using different names. Never leaves his penthouse studio in Ebro. As a freelancer he has no health insurance, so is terrified he'll get mowed-down trying to cross Front Beach Road. Rolling averages started with release of the fall 05 book. Those of us who had great fall numbers are pissed because our friends in Topeka think we're still struggling. Those of us who had lousy fall numbers are drinking heavily because we know we'll get the axe when HQ sees what really happened... around August 1.

Sometimes WDJR- 96.9 (if i am right) and WTVY-FM 95.5 in Dothan has a good singal sometimes Tallahassee can pick it up. If ur in Tallahassee u can pick up Clear Channel's 92.5 94.5 98.5 with 100,000 watts and 107.9 PFM also covered parts of Tallahassee with a very good singals of these radio stations in Panama City. WPFM sounds like WHTF-FM HOT 104.9 Tallahassee CHR. I think PFM can add alittle dance music back on 107.9. Panama City is a dance friendly on PCB with the nightclubs.
