Isn't that what radio stations have been saying for years??

A couple days ago it was PFM--now Island? For a minute there, we thought you actually knew something...

Yeah, and I thought July 4th weekend we'd get Jacked.

Jack-FM's motto is "playing what WE want", as opposed to 106 saying "playing what YOU want". I won't guess exactly what it is 106 is about to do, but perhaps they're going to have an all-request weekend. <P ID="signature">______________

No doubt alot of people will be listening this weekend, due to Hurricane Dennis heading to the region.

Except that everyone's many miles away by now (or should be).

So, is WBPC an LPFM?

25kw. Just what PCB needs, another radio station to compete.
Was tough back in the mid 80's, when there were half the stations.
I'd run from it faster than the hurricane. Who owns WBPC?

Looks like it'll be playing NOTHING anybody wants for
a while... hope everybody along the Panhandle are safe through
Dennis.

WBPC is owned by Bay Broadcasting, LLC. Studios(at the Bay Point marina) were under construction and the transmitter site was partially completed when Dennis was on the way, so we decided to broadcast the NOAA feed. We did not have time to complete both generator installations before the storm. Format??? Nobody has come anywhere close to guessing. Stay tuned!

The stress from the hurricane is over. So what if there was a stand-alone station that had people that knew our little market. Well known local radio voices. Who did not have to bow down to corporate directives. What if there was a radio station that actually had the opportunity to "break all rules for sound" and actually serve the listner? How about actually answering the phones? Clear Channel, Styles and Double O have their clusters, but they don't get it. Local radio can work, and our love for where we live will provide a service that other folks can't. Soapbox mode off.

Wish you the absolute best! Scary and exciting to be sure. Mark
Carter at WSBZ in Destin has proven if done right, under your
own terms, you can do it. Man, similarities with hurricanes. I
got in FWB just before Opal trashed it all out. Glad Dennis
didn't hurt you guys.

95.1 signal

I heard a caller to WJHG mention that 95.1 was on the air rebroadcasting NOAA. I was able to pick them up on my car radio in Decatur County Georgia!
