I just thought'd I 'd move this up top for discussion and then open up the conversation for ratings in PC, since they come out soon and last books threads were so fun.

Yes just what PC needs more Steve Michaels, yawn there is a reason some people move from job to job. Rarely, does it have anything to do with how "great" they are. Steve, how's that view, keep pushing that you guys are in Bay Point, you know how the locals loooooooove Bay Point. Maybe you guys should set up some new studios in condos and start bragging about that will get the people tuning in. Can't wait till the B is for sale and Steve's Panama City Radio Tour continues.

Can you even pick up the B in Bay Point?
The last time I drove down 23rd the signal
wasn't very spiffy.

They are kicking ass! But I may be a bit biased. How is WXNT treating you. Need a show? haha

Re: Panama City/Ebro

No, you can't hear the station at Bay point. No, the owner doesn't pay his bills. Yes, the new GM has his act together. He seems like a great guy. Owner billed 1800.00 for December.Total. No, I can no longer support an owner who made all those great promises prior to sign-on. Monty said "run away, run away..." I did. Apologies to all for supporting my former employer. If Massmediaguy will get his behind back to Boston and let Bob and Bob run the station, there is a good chance the station may succeed. One of Massmediaguy's biggest clients is Connecticut School of Broadcasting--It was just sold for 50 million. Massmediaguy has 80 percent of the stock in Bay Broadcasting, Dick Robinson has 80 per cent of the money. Hey, this little story may be changing radically in the next month or two. Stay tuna'd.... I have a hundred watts available from my Yaesu FT-100D. My signal is better.

Blown out again, Steve you need to leave this market for another market... you seem to be on an island surronded by burned bridges.

It rained so much today the fires on the bridges went out. No show for WBPC on the publicly available rating results. Again to paraphrase--"a station with no signal is a signal of no station." Your mileage may vary... Massmediaguy discounted suggestions to improve the signal. Sorry about his luck. AlaBama, you must hate it when intuitive observations backed by factual information deny you the ability to formulate an accurate decision on what is really happening.
When people on this list are led to believe that there is a great opportunity for employment with a station that offers nothing other than a great view of a body of water with very expensive boats out the window, potential employees ought to know the truth about the way their potential employers operate. Now, now, you immediately think this is sour grapes. Somewhat, but the truth is my agreement with Massmediaguy was that I would be compensated for engineering duties that occured outside of my regular hours. I have a written agreement indicating the hourly and mileage rate. I wasn't hired to be an engineer. Massmediaguy told the staff that another engineer in the market would be CE. Unfortunately, the other guy didn't know it. And when there was an issue early in life of the station, a rather irate statement from the other engineer resulted in
"anything we talk about starts the clock ticking for my hourly rate!"

To summarize my six month observations:
1. Very poor judgement in cost of license, build-out of the station and the delusions of grandeur.
3. If you expect to derive revenue from a businessman in the South, don't insult the person by demanding payment in advance. Especially if y'ain't from 'round here and you ain't got no clue whom you're dealing with.
4. Pay your bills. When you're in a small town like this, word about the new guy failing to pay his bills spreads quickly.
5. Despite an employees loyalty and desire to work out of the box to help your employer to succeed, when the employer decides to not pay you for contracted services performed, ya get pissed and quit. I did.

So, AlaBama, relax. Your job is temporarily safe. My bridges "sorronded"(sic) are stable.

What's really great is chance to sit back, relax, not have the remote control call while you're asleep.

So as I sit here and review the ratings, they are all expected in PC. WBPC doesn't show up, and the owners and managers who understand the value of spending money for talent and promotion received what they paid for.
I'm thinking about putting on some Part 15 transmitters fed by Wifi on the beach. Should be fun...

Hell, just put on 250 watt FM's. Double did it and the FCC didn't care.
Just don't use anyone else's frequency and you will be fine(not fined).

Re: Panama City/Ebro

Steve,

You ran your mouth here before and every prediction you have ever made has been wrong. So your now gloating about the station you just quit(were fired from) not showing up? Hey put that on a resume "spent 6 months at a station that put billboards and jumped on a huge event and still was unable to get that station to a 1.0." Steve your a jerk and a failure, now your tryingg to gloat over others failure like you try to claim BS after the previous book. You were wrong then, and now this book proves you wrong again.

Wrong about what? Take a look at what was going to happen with this new signal. Hey, it was fun jerking Styles by having our frequency displayed on the Billfish signs. It all boils down to spending millions of dollars to put a radio station on the air that nobody can hear in the market they want to serve. The new class A in auction 62 to Lynn Haven will show up in the ARB after it is built. Ms. Horton knows to to run a business.

Remember, a station with no signal, is a signal of no station!

Yea...2.7 million just for the channel.
Can't wait for this potential powerhouse
to hit black ink in the PC market.
Don't hold your breath.
