Papass WCWG updates

First link took me to the Tony Snow Obit...

I've still got a few friends at Pappas, some in Greensboro and others around the country. Other than the inconveniences of getting checks approved - more hoops to jump through; but vendors are getting paid, albeit slowly.

WCWG is in the bankruptcy group - Pappas has multiple groups of stations. Others are NOT in bankruptcy; but suffered due to the shared connections.

I'm surprised that Pappas has NOT tried to use the bankruptcy to sell WCWG to one of the Big-4 in the Market. They could use the financial distress as a way to convince the FCC to permit a second duopoly - Sinclair's WXLV/WMYV was the first and technically only one allowed in the market under "normal" circumstances. WCWG has the best DTV signal, if OTA becomes an issue in the future. It might be worth something in the future.
