Parking garages are always great places for radio reception, depending on what kind of radio you have. When you enter one of our local parking garages in Charleston (mostly at sea level), you struggle to get some of the local stations, especially AMs. On the 7th and 8th floor (I think the tallest parking garage in our area currently is 8 floors or so) you can get Savannah and Myrtle Beach stations even on a normal day.
Skip especially helps. There was one time we had a tropo outbreak and at the same time I had Raleigh (94.7), Roanoke (99.1), Atlanta (97.1), and Jacksonville. I was getting stations from 5 different states at the same time.
