parklane contacts Boston Globe...

Because he was banned! Wow...pretty sad when you have to contact a newspaper because you were banned from an INTERNET MESSAGE BOARD! Someone needs a life.

Oh sure, he's sending info that Jay Severin contacted a moderator here with a request to stop the postings about him (that's not pressure...it's a request, and it happens from time to time from people who feel they have been crapped on without reason...Jay wasn't the first, he won't be the last)...but REALLY! Who cares? Oh, yeah...parklane and Scot Lehigh...I forgot. 2 people.

parklane thinks it's a scare tactic, revenge for his banning! I just wanted YOU ALL and Scot Lehigh to know that WE DON'T CARE. This is petty radio gossip barely worth a mention. But go ahead Scot...print something if it makes you feel better and make you feel like you got a leg up on Jay. Jay wins everytime because you make more people curious..and if he straightens up his act from here on out, no one will hear anything about pulitzers and Harvard, or whatever. He has the opportunity now to shine! And you are playing into any publicity he needs...so DO IT, DO IT NOW.

Jay if you read this, be a big boy. Let it slide. The only people that really care are parklane and Scot. Everyone else are spectators watching in sick fascination. We want to stop looking but we can't...like a bad car wreck! LOL.

Post the story...print the Radio-Info.com URL...send more people here! It's publicity babe! Woohoo....

Oh, and for you hiring managers that know who parklane is....do you really want this type of cannon ball on your team? If you don't do what HE wants, he stomps his feet and runs to the newspaper with a story to try to shame you for what you did to him...real professional.... <P ID="signature">______________

Unfortunately, when you a have public board such as this, you are bound to get even a few people who are disturbed. It's like comming accross a bum on the street who is also derragned (they all aren't, it's just an example). But that's the point, everyone is not sane, there's a few on the lunatic fringe. There's millions of people, some people have serious problems and need help. It just so happens that parklane was one of those. He probably is a very unhappy human being, who is out of work, and spends his day obssessing about how much he hates everything. He needs serious help, the Boston Globe letter is proof of that. Unfortuantely, he was attracted to this board, and it became his pulpit.

But, he was weeded out eventually. Sooner or later, people who are disturbed go over board and get caught. I just would hope none of us ever run into parklane in a dark coner, it probably will not be pleasant...

Cabradio, do know that posters like I appreciate the work you do to keep this place clean for the rest of us. Thank you.

"How Sad"....

I for one will miss the pis# and vinegar that you contributed to spice up this board Parklane. I guess it's back to talk of transmission towers and signals.....yawnnnnnn, zzzz, zzzz, zzzz, zzzz,. SeeYa!

...there's always "start your own blog". Blogger.com, LiveJournal for example.
I had a Boston Radio one going briefly but I figure there are enough news/
discussion sources for this (like R-Info, and you know the rest of 'em) as it is
and am too busy with other stuff.

Did You Write This In Anger? May Cause You and Radio-info.com Legal Problems

I am not sure of the point of your post. It seems a bit inflammatory and even libelous. There is a legal cause of action termed Adverse Interference With Advantageous Business Practices which is a fancy term for "blacklisting". It seems plain to most readers here that you are asking future employers to blacklist this banned poster if he applies for a position in the media.

It looks like you wrote this post in anger which is always a bad thing to do. As a result, you may have subjected yourself and Radio-info.com to some valid and serious legal actions. Don't be surprised if as we are reading this that parklane isn't sitting down with his lawyers.

All in all, not a very smart move by you. You are supposed to me a moderator but it seems you would rather be an agitator and thereby put this discussion board in jeopardy. Yes, I am a lawyer to answer the question you haven't asked but not in the field of tort law where this action would fall.

Was WAAF jock Neanderpaul banned?

Wasn't Neanderpaul from WAAF banned? on this board.

I too am saddened that Charlie made the decision to ban Parklane.

The alleged attorney who posted on the board has a point - since I have a good idea who Parklane is, that kind of talk about him is worse than Parklane's multiple rants (just remove them if they annoy). Because it attacks his profession while he was participating on a board on the internet.

The small community that is radio doesn't like the boat rocked. It is news when someone gets banned and Jay Severin complains. It doesn't help Severin as much as you think - that old adage "all press is good press" doesn't hold anymore - which is why Tom Cruise will sue when someone claims he is gay. Tom Cruise jumping up and down on a couch to proclaim his love for yet another woman indicates a man in serious need of a boyfriend, but I digress to prove this point.

Severin complaining to this board shows what a thin skin he has. Parklane going to The Globe that he was banned from a radio board is funny. If it makes news,
all the more readers for Radio-Info. So we win by getting more posters onto this site!

Severin/Severino or whatever he is calling himself this week has had plenty of attention, including TV ads. Once people hear him they will make up their own mind. He's just not very good in my opinion.

But Radio-Info wins if Scott Lehigh does a commentary on this. Go Scott!

Re: Did You Write This In Anger? May Cause You and Radio-info.com Legal Problems

No it wasn't written in anger. And no, I am not suggesting to anyone what they should or shouldn't do. I could care less. If anyone wants to hire him, I won't mind in the least. I am saying, to the viewers of this board, some of whom happen to work in radio, that what he has done here is stompped his feet, cried and went running to someone who would listen because he didn't get his way.

I am not a lawyer, but I know I am within my bounds as moderator. I will gladly speak with anyone's attorney about ANY issue raised on this board.

Re: Did You Write This In Anger? May Cause You and Radio-info.com Legal Problems

That's not what your original post sounds like. You seem to have issued a partial retraction but the damage has already been done. You are implying parklane's motives in his actions or his post which is always dangerous legal territory. Just my legal opinion and its free.

Re: Did You Write This In Anger? May Cause You and Radio-info.com Legal Problems

Is a newspaper required to publish every "letter to the editor" they get? Or
can they edit a letter they DO publish?

Does someone who does a blog have a right to a) accept commentary from
others, b) screen/delete comments, or c) not accept comments at all?

Does a radio talk show host have to air every call they get? (If they did,
they might wind up airing some telemarketer calls...something Stephanie Miller
actually did at one point, from a caller who apparently didn't know they
were talking not to a homeowner but to a nationally syndicated talk show).

Then again there may be slander/libel possibilities, but I'm not a lawyer so
I can't say whether or not he'd have a case...

No. You are wrong. There is no retraction. I am not blackballing him. I have no influence with any hiring manager in Boston. If I did, i would be working in Boston myself! Again, my point was an objective opinion of his behaviour.

parklane essentially threatened that he would go to Scot at the Globe if he was banned. I have the emails. So I am not implying anything. It is a fact. Plus, parklane damaged his rep here long before I banned him. What he has done is tried a backhanded tactic to scare me, and Radio-Info. parklane has no problem discussing certain issues publicly about other people. So, he shouldn't have issues about people talking about him publicly. He has put himself in the public eye by being so critical of others in the public eye. He has been quick to criticize, and even get close to libelous statements himself. He has no room to be calling the shots.

Again...I am willing to discuss any issue with Radio-Info Boston with any attorney. <P ID="signature">______________

What you think you said and what the legal system thinks you said are not always the same. The damage has been done.

OH JESUS!

I would not worry about Parklane, he can surely post under one of his several other alias's on the board. This is his MO, everyone is the antagonist and he is always the protagonist, always.

As for the mighty Jay Severin trying albeit politely so to expunge his name from this board, if you want to be a controversial figure this is what it entails and this is what it is about MANY PEOPLE WILL DISLIKE YOU!. You sling mud it? gets slung back at you, conceptually that is so simple and obvious that even the fllter of your apparant enormous ego should be able to process that bit of intel. In short grow a pair and have the courage of your convictions. Concentrate more on the globe's take on your act, more people read it in one day than will read this site in a year (all due respect but we're the only real loyalists to this site, and we're all a bunch of radio dorks)

Nobody's worried. I was just letting them (parklane and Scot) know that I don't care...nor does Radio-Info.com care. Please, write a story!

Somebody should have told that to Jay a long time ago!

Oh, and if I'm not mistaken Alexa put us somewhere in the 50,000 range of most visited websites out of billions in the world! Not a bad place to be, for us radio dorks! LOl....

Thank you Cabradio!

I, for one, am very glad you finally banned him.... he was like a cancer. Complained about everything and no positive words to say... and when you called him on something, he wouldn't admit when he was wrong, he'd just pretend you never said it.

You're right, any damage done to him was done completely by himself.

Finally Cab,.... You can you look at IP numbers, right? I would do that cause I have ALREADY seen a few posts on this board and others that "smell" like him, using another alias.

I stand corrected sir, and I proudly proclaim myself to be one among the radio dork.

Yes, and cabradio irresponsible accusation against a banned poster may cause this board to be sued.

You should see how lawyers talk to each other. You people are such a bunch of cry babies. Some of you, if you could pass the Bar, would probably start crying if an outspoken judge of which there are many shut down your line of questioning in a trial.

No wonder radio is so bad in this town. Makes me want to be back in NYC.
