Bill,
I was a manager/owner of 4 real radio stations from 73-85, also found a few other frequencies and sold them, then sold everything in '85. I purchased 2 funeral homes and sold them 2 years later. I'm now a vey happy nursing home chaplain.
From 2001 til now I have operated 4 part 15 stations. Great hobby.
1 & 2. Holy Name of Jesus Radio - 2-24/7 Catholic stations (xmtrs located in church steeples, a mile apart. Their signals barely touch for great adjacent coverage; Programming is on satellite and cd and live, computer operated using Wintrax Jukebox and 2 cd changers. 1610 and 1620 am, One station feed the other by internet. hourly time tone, Catholic teaching, live daily program "homework helper" produced by grade school students, also USA Network News, Catholic news, grade school sports coverage, some ewtn programs, some music,5am-5pm English, 5pm-5am Spanish.
3. "Relax" 24/7 self programmed 2000 song beautiful music format (much like fm100 format) that covers 125 unit senior living center, using ots software. Hourly time tone, and 7 seconds of silence between each 3 song set. Center manager has push to talk microphone and can break intro programming for bulletins (Bingo in an hour!) Weather radio provides automatic weather bulletins.
4. "oldies" -2000 songs 24/7 1955-84 oldies run by ots w/jingles, run from home.
Usually #1 and 2 require 2 hours of weekly maintenance, #3 about an hour montly, and #4 is often tweaked.
How do I get listed?
