Qualifications: Five years radio journalism experience, either network or local, or at CNN. Digital audio editing and writing for radio news essential. On-air experience is mandatory. Effective group and individual communication skills are necessary. Correspondents need to be able to multi-task under pressure in order to maintain CNN quality customer service for all CNN entities and CNN Radio affilitate stations.

Duties: The person in this position will primarily work from the D.C. Bureau and Capitol Hill covering all Washington related news for CNN Radio and its affilitates. This position may require travel for story coverage outside the D.C. area. Job requirements include, but are not limited to, interviewing newsmakers, attending briefings, achoring live news events and producing live and recorded long-form programs. The successful candidate will also report, both live and recorded, on planned events and breaking news stories for the Network and its affilitates. A CNN Radio Correspondent is responsible for editorial content and technical aspects of studio and field reporting. The person who obtains this position must be well read on political and government issues and can dig deeper than what the newsmakers tells him or her.
