Billboard report.

Entercom Boston active rock WAAF has promoted part-time personality Bob Hannah to nights, a shift he’s recently been handling.

“What a luxury to promote from within,” stated director of FM programming Ron Valeri in a press release.

“I am humbled to be working for a program director like Ron Valeri,” Hannah added. “It is an absolute honor to work amongst the talented staff here at WAAF. It has been tough getting here. Knowing the results, I would do it over again a thousand times. This is a dream come true for me.”

Prior to WAAF, Hannah also held on-air positions at WLZR, Milwaukee, WHJY, Providence and Metro Networks<P ID="signature">______________

Looks as though "Mistress" Carrie is permanant. Rumor was that she did not have the job still and they were looking for an afternoon show.

Congrats Hannah!

Bitches N' Bologna for everyone!!!

Good kid...glad Valeri did the right thing.

WAAF signal poor again

I've heard that they're trying the W. Boylston tower again.

WAAF reception yesterday was the worst I've ever heard in the car in Somerville, Cambridge and Back Bay/Kenmore. Worse than the first W. Boylston attempt in the winter. Not listenable driving through some sections of those areas at all.

The Paxton signal used to fade in and out a bit driving through those areas and didn't come in with full stereo separation, but I never totally lost it into static for major stretches like from W. Boylston yesterday.

With all the signal problems 107.3 has would it make sense for Entercom to buy the 99.5 signal (if Greater Media puts it up for sale) and either run a simulcast or move WAAF's format to 99.5?

Its time to put WEEI on 107.3 ( 850 simulcast with 107.3 ) and put WAAF on 93.7 . Now there your Red Sox on the FM dial . Mike S-ck !

Re: WAAF signal poor again

Now I found the signal coming from the North (Lowell) down 93 to Waltham was very good. Nice and clear. I also listened in Boston on Huntington Ave into Newton and was impressed with the signal there. I didn't listen that close to Kendall Square/Cambridge to hear if it sounded different but I didn't notice any signal problems anywhere on the east. Now to the west, while heading home, there is definiate signal degredation towards Sturbridge and on the Pike west of Exit 9. Of course terrain doesn't help this at all. I'll put money that this isn't the final move for WAAF.

Re: WAAF signal poor again

It was sounding better driving home through Cambridge this morning than yesterday. Don't know if they're back on Paxton again for the moment, or if something in W. Boylston may be <blink>intermittent</blink>...

She's been permanant for awhile now. They just moved her from mid-day to evening.

My guess is with almost 10 years at AAF, she isnt going anywhere. Personally, I dont think she is that bad of a DJ, but i know many feel different.

Anyway, congrats Hannah!
