party 93.3 houston flip rumors

all access reports that party 93.3 kpty is now jockless, and with the departure of APD/MD/afternoon jock Crisco Kidd, rumors of going spanish are being heard, as soon as this weekend.

anyone else hearing these rumors???

i know, totally a surprise to me, i am in katy and yea the signal isn't all that great, but i enjoyed the station, i read in another post the web stream is down?

is radio flip happy or what lately?

Radio and records also reports exits of middayer Cristal Bubblin, and Hard Body Kiotti

it's just a matter of time i guess, they were number 23 with a 1.9 share in the PPM.

Maybe Univision will just change KPTY and also simulcast Recuerdo. So Recuerdo would be Recuerdo 93.3 and 106.5 just like Univision did in the DFW area with La Que Buena.

A simulcast of Recuerdo on 93.3 wouldn't make any sense. Too much signal overlap.

I think the clock started ticking on Party when it moved from 104.9.

Univision still has Que Buena in DFW, so a return to Houston isn't out of the question. But do they want to pull listeners away from Estereo Latino again?

However I'd be interested to see if Univision is able to pull something totally different out of its hat.

good point, seems they have struggled, would they do anything "different"???? i wonder when the flip will occur, listener's are probably scratching their heads not hearing jocks right now

reading all these things about flipping and stuff kind of gets me nervoius..i work as a sidekick at a spanish station here in houston.... and well..its stressful...

Ok let me put all the rumors to rest i've never been wrong about a flip mark my words KPTY 93.3 will be flipping in the next 48 hrs and yes some of you may be correct about a few details from what i hear it was a very sad day at univision and many real talents were let go. so yes 93.3 will soon no longer be hip hop and no it will not be in simulcast with 106.5 and some other changes will also occur in a few days changes to both 106.6 and 102.9 stay tuned.

If you know so much why dont u just say it?

dang...i can't believe thats happening....sorry to hear about all the party dj's , best wishes to everyone....

KPTY (Party 93.3)/Houston middayer Cristal Bubblin; APD/MD/afternoon personality Crisco Kidd; and Hard Body Kiotti, host of the night show "Reality Radio," have all been let go from the Univision rhythmic station. Univision regional PD and Party 93.3 PD Cindy Hill is still with the company.
At the end of the business day (Feb. 27), the rhythmic format was still intact and DJ CoolAid's mix aired as usual from 5-6 p.m., but no personalities are currently on the air.

A format flip is expected to be coming soon, and the all Spanish-language stopsets add to speculation that this new format will be Latin-based.In the January 2009 PPM results, Party 93.3 ranked No. 23 in the market with a 1.9 share.
Calls to Univision were not returned by press time.
Its a sad day in Houston Tx. It is not yet known wether or not Toc Bar will go live on the radio with Party tonight.

Latino, I say this to you only so you can pass it along to your co-workers, not to insult you personally. In my humble opinion, you guys at Univision are morons. KPTY's musical rotation, and the constant mix of old school hip hop that "The Box" won't ever touch should have been what made Party the gold standard in this market for the format. Instead of giving the station a fighting chance to go head to head with 97.9 with the newly improved 104.9 signal, your company moves the station to Port Arthur to dwindle away into obscurity. Now Houston is sent back to 97.9 and their repetitive, same ol' same ol' playlist. Nice job. Those of us that actually liked Party sure appreciate it.

If they are going to flip it, at least for the love of Pete, do us all a favor and make it interesting. (Read that as Spanish station # umpteen for this market is NOT interesting.)

The flip will happen tonight and the remote from toc bar tonight with Crisco Kidd will be one to remember. Dont be surprised if some FTC laws get broken tonight. I'm sure very little Univision employees would have hard feelings about leaving behind some dirty laundry.......... Word on the street is that a certain jock found out about the switch like the guy on Airheads. They found a box of Que Buena 93.3 merchandise and opened it by accident. What a way to go. Im sure Party will go out with a bang!

not sure crisco will be the one doing the remote not all party dj's were let go from what i hear dj coolaid is still on payroll so i don't think he will be doing anything that could cost him his job.
