Amazing... Why do radio stations keep old data like that? Looks like they would of re-loaded the whole system and not keep anything of the old. Maybe I'm wrong.
Regardless, there is little to no effort being put into Party 97.7 outside of mixshows. Their playlist is awful and quite dated for a CHR. Only 10 of the top 50 songs on Mediabase are truly currents (none of them being cutting edge/fresh anymore except for maybe Lady Gaga. This includes:
Britney Spears - Till The World Ends
Black Eyed Peas - Just Can't Get Enough
Pitbull/Neyo - Give Me Everything
Lady Gaga - The Edge of Glory
Adele - Rolling In The Deep
Martin Solveig/Dragonette - Hello
Katy Perry - ET
Bruno Mars - Lazy Song
Enrique Iglesias/Pitbull - Tonight
J Lo/Pitbull - On The Floor
I was going to do a list of recurrents in the top 50, but that would have been too long. ;D
Actually, Party sounds much better than any Cumulus CHR. IMO, there's more variety and not as conservative as I93-Dallas. One thing to keep in mind, Party will always be second fiddle to The Beat. Party is flanker so KTFM and Mix numbers are reduced. And so far, it seems to be working.
Why do they still play miley cyrus party in the usa? They play it like its just been released. I don't know of any top 40 stations that still play it.
maybe KRBE.?
Back to the initial thread... Anything you hear before 5:00am could be "Engineer's Choice." I recall a rocker playing Dixieland in the middle of overnight maintenance.
Why would it make more sense to simulcast The Beat on 97.7? The Beat has a strong signal across the entire market. They can sell additional ad spots with the current jockless jukebox.
Now that's funny! With a free encyclopedia you usually get what you pay for, of course, and in that terse history of "Party" there's no mention of their prior life as a Cuero station, with various formats that included country and Tejano. Not surprisingly there's nothing said about their upgrade to a San Antonio rim-shot by relocating to McQueeney (a move which, coupled with the demise of 1600 AM, left Cuero with no local station). Also, while it's obvious that Party is a Univision station the owner of record is still "Rawhide Radio," but that's another story entirely. Perhaps the most interesting bit of history is also missing: the attempted gerrymandering of allocations that would have resulted in the relocation of the KLTO-FM antenna to the Tower of the Americas.
