Party Mix Good n Plenty

Regardless of what WHTT may be up to with its new Mix handle, one thing it's doing right is the Saturday Night Party Mix which features 70s and 80s dance music. It sounds like it's aimed directly at Women 35-54 and maybe even retro-thinking 25-34's. It's formidable competition to the esteemed Lance Diamond at WJYE. The WHTT show is hosted by Mikey Mike Jacobs (ex-Kiss jock and jock at the Edge), who has lots of vitality and energy not found on the WJYE and Star shows that air Saturday night. The guy is clearly having fun.

Whatever's going to happen at WHTT with this new Mix business, the station's Saturday night show is likely to pull more listeners from WJYE and Star once they flip the switch to Christmas music.[/Mike]

I still miss Mix 92.9.
Too bad that failed.
Usually when there already was a "mix" in a market, another station (owned by another company) won't become "mix" because they don't want the listener to mix the two stations up.
Then again, the other mix was gone long ago, so who knows...

Yes the Saturday Night Party mix on WHTT is great, but I believe it is better then what WJYE has with Lance Diamond in that The WHTT has more of a "ROCK 102" 70's feel to it. Not all disco, motown, r and b, but that mixed in with 70's rock and pop you could actully dance to.

I think one of the failures of B-92.9 as a dancin' oldies station was that they had a very limited play list. WHTT has it right. To mix all types of popular music together.

Hmmm...anything like the way the Saturday night Retro Mix with Peter Berini (sp?) sounded on Q102 back in 1994?
