Party on the plaza: Where did everyone go???

Last night I tuned in to Mc12's 10pm newscast to see just how many people would be gathering at 200 Prostitute Plaza to gawk at Cooney y Curtis (2 different people). There were just a few people standing outside the studio window, awkwardly waving and staring at the cameras like they had never been on live TV before.

When it was time for Jimmy Q's weather, he did it live from the 'plaza', but Mc12 didn't do a live shot of Jimmy Q until the very end. During the weather, you could tell that Mc12 was piping the audio through speakers for the crowd of 3 to hear; the sound quality was terrible and I could hear an echo/feedback. When they did the live shot, only 2 or 3 people were outside with Jimmy Q and he promptly gave away the outcome of the Suns game. Smooth move, Jimmy Q!

All in all, a very entertaining newscast. ;D

Why do they bother with the plaza at 10pm? Is there any legitimate reason to be downtown (unless there's an event) at that hour?

BTW, why does Jimmy Q give the impression that he's seeing the maps and temps for the first time? Does he not "practice" before the newscast? Good grief, it is really not that hard to do Phoenix weather. Oh, how I long for Bill Kelly to return!

Most of the downtown events (Suns, D'backs) are south of Van Buren St. anyway. And if anyone is walking or driving down E. Van Buren St. at that time of night, they're probably looking for....uh...something that has nothing to do with news. ;D

This adds a whole new interest to Mc12 News. Now about paying Lin Sue to stay home...
