Passing last week

Barry Bruce who led Q106 back in the late 70's passed away last Wednesday after a year long fight with cancer. He is survived by his wife Linda, his daughters Heather (program director for WGAL-TV) and Kelly, his sons Jon and Chris, and four grandchildren Drew, Grace, Olivia and Liam (who was born 9 hours before Barry's passing).

I was Barry's PD at Q106 from 81-85 and went to his viewing on Monday night, saw many old friends from back in the day. When my wife and I left the viewing around 8:30 they told me about 800 people attended, I believe that was quite a testimony to Barry and the impact he had on so many lives. I am glad I had the opportunity to work with him at Q and also to do some work for him through his ad agency. My condolences to Linda and the family, may he rest in peace.
