PAT CASSIDY LEAVES WBBM FOR WLS

Morning news anchor Pat Cassidy has left WBBM Newsradio 780 for a yet to be announced position on WLS AM 890.
He resigned shortly after his show ended this morning. He said he wanted to do more of a talkshow than just
anchor the news. Does anyone have any idea what time slot he will fill at WLS?

This is definitly a great catch for WLS, Pat has been at the top of the ratings since his days at the former WMAQ.

I'm wondering the same thing. The only thing that I know ofthat is on the bubble there is the morning show. It'll be interesting to ee both what he will do and who his successor will be at WBBM. I wonder if David Jenings will take that shift over, as I'm not sure if he is still with WLS.

I am not positive but, I believe I heard David Jennings doing the news a couple of weeks ago on WGN. I think he was just
filling in though, so that is a possibility. He would be a great person to co-host mornings on WBBM.

Is Pat Cassidy really a good air personality or just a good newsman. Just because he
has a nice voice and can read the news does not translate into a great talk show
host. In all fairness I did not listen to Pat that often, but I still don't see a
star in the making.

I just hope WLS does not put that idiot Imus on in the mornings. Talk about a
no talent from New York. My message to WLS is, keep it local guys. Also WLS
needs to get rid of all their national shows except Coast To Coast A.M. and put
all local talent on like WGN does. ::)

I'm surprised that there isn't more discussion or speculation on this topic. I mean I can't see where WLS management would fit him in, unless someone was cut or moved to a new daypart. Maybe they will expand mid-days and move Jerry Agar to evenings? I guess I thought that more people would be interested in this.

There will be more said about it once more news becomes available.

Pat is doing doing the news today on Don and Roma's show. I just tuned in and heard him, he has very good
chemistry with Don and Roma. I'm wondering if this will be his permanent position or if they are just getting
him back on the air until they unveil their long term plans for him. He sounds great on the air. I'm glad he
is back.
