Pat Hernandez Update

Friends of Pat Hernandez will be happy to know that Pat is going back to radio. He's been hired to work his mojo at KUHF Houston Public Radio News.

He'll join that already big crowd of KTRH refugees over there. I think they have at least half a dozen former KTRH'ers in that shop.

Good luck Pat. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

I worked with Pat for many years at 500 Lovett and the move to 24 Greenway at KILT. We shared memories and good times on the KILT bridge and the $125,000 KILT Fishing tournaments. Tell him the "All-night Chuckker" said, hey!

Once Patrick gets settled I think those who know him need to schedule a tour. Me & Steve Fixx went through KUHF radio a few months back and were really impressed with the place. Well equipped and beautiful.

Yeah!

It's great to about a Houston radio icon getting back to the microphone, where he belongs!

I am a hispanic broadcaster that lived in Houston and dreamed (like all of us do) about being on the radio. Although Willy Sancho (KIKK) was the man who instilled the passion for radio in me. I looked up to Pat Hernandez as a role model during his days at KILT back at the Lovett studios. When I worked in Greenway Plaza, had the chance to meet Pat once, but never got a chance to thank him for keeping my belief alive. Seeing more and more hispanic broadcasters working main-stream stations, I have to believe Pat Hernandez had a small but effective role in that (at least in me).

Thank you Mr. Hernandez.

Pat is a pro who has the respect of both newsmakers and folks who report the news. He knows the Houston market as well as anyone and is a great addition to the Houston Public Radio news team. He's hung in there through thick (KILT) and thin (KTRH) and I think he'll enjoy his new gig over at KUHF. Houston is a big town with lots of news and it's encouraging to see Pat back out on the streets doing what he does best.

I worked w/ Pat back in '94 at KILT and I have to say that he's one hell of a guy; professionally and personally. Local politicos and the staff at KILT really seemed to respect him.

Best of luck, Pat.

I worked with Pat at KILT. He is a gentleman, and journalist Houston can/should be proud of. Good luck Pat, I'll be listening....

I worked with Pat at KLOL way back when, and again at KILT for many years. He's a great guy and really deserves all good things life has to offer.
